Per the Constitution, the SAC is NOT a representative of the undergraduate members. This confusion has been going on for some time. There might need to be some legislation that clarifies this. When you look at the Constitution definition for duties and responsibilities of SAC, you might have a different perception of where the legislation should or should not come from.
It is your chapter's delegate to the General Assembly who needs to understand all of the proposed legislation and understand where your chapter stands on the proposed changes.
One thing to note, in SAC's defense...this is the first year in at least 25 years, that SAC had completed and was able to present proposed legislation at the Regional Leadership Conferences. The discussions that took place at these conferences will enable the SAC to modify the legislation and enable chapter members to have time to discuss the changes prior to the General Assembly.
