I'm not in a BGLO, but I wanted to know why you were offended. I mean, there were some bad characters and characterizations, sure. Black men were portrayed in both good and bad lights as well.
I didn't take Halle's character as anywhere indicative or implicative because there were only three Black female characters in the whole movie. Plus, Hollywood is so narrowminded as it is, I can be surprised/appalled/shocked by virtually nothing at this point.
