From what I have read . . . as a stand alone I would say wow I can't beleive they printed or think that . . .
But in context as a newsletter meant to be funny: it is funny. And if we heard some stand up comedians saying the same stuff, a lot of us would laugh!
They probably have done something like that every year and just got caught this year. Probably by someone with a motive to hurt them.
