Thank you everyone!
We requested a baby. South Korea recently changed their international adoption policy in an attempt to get more Korean families to adopt domestically, so abandoned/relinquished infants are not available for international placement until they are at least 5 months old now. That is great for them and I highly support that policy. I just hope they can encourage more families to adopt than have in the past.
Anyway, our agency uses Eastern Social Welfare in Seoul and all the adoptable infants are placed in fosters homes, so even though we won't be getting him until a minimum of 8 months old (minimum 5 months for placement, plus minimum 3 months for immigration paperwork), he will be in a home environment.
And yes, BBelle- once we get that picture, not only will it be on our refrigerator, I'll be sharing it with everyone I know!
I bought myself a t-shirt from an online store specializing in adoption things. It says, "I'm in love with a child I haven't met yet. I am in the process of adoption. I am liable to break down in tears at any moment. Please bear with me until my referral comes!" That about sums it up.
