What's the big deal in the south about "croakies"? Those things, or things just like them, have been around since the 80s or so, and no one I know would call them preppy or anything. In fact, a lot of people up here in the northwest, and people in California, use them while doing outdoor activities like hiking or playing beach volleyball. It's just interesting to me that they're seen as preppy in the south.
