Well, actually I haven't. I just ran this by to one of my co-workers and she stated that it was an inner city program, and some kids don't even have a cold bologna sandwich to eat. Then these children were not memebers of the church unlike the white kids. The white children parents are paying tithes and offerings to the church and so that's why they probably have the better food. And besides it's a community service organization, and the food to the program was donated and probably limited. So they had to give the children what they had. She stated that she rather had a bologna sandwich over a grilled cheese sandwich any way.
I agree with the food and stuff being donated, but if other children are around, and I don't have enough of something. I don't give it to my children because the other children will be wanting some too. The kids wanted cake, the program directors told them that it was for the other kids and that they couldn't have none. I just treat everyone the same.
By the way I emailed them and let them know I felt, and why I will not be participing with their organization.
