No one can say for sure whether you'll receive a bid or not, but it is worth a try. Recommendations are very important at LSU and I'd start now with getting those together. Some chapters will cut a girl immediately if she does not have a recomendation.

Yes, recs are very important there, and that's not a secret:
LSU's Greek Affairs web site says
". . . it is highly recommended to secure recommendations/references for the sororities.
How many recs do I need? A minimum of one recommendation is asked for each sorority, two for Chi Omega Sorority."
Check out, read and heed the LSU Greek Affairs and Panhellenic information

Also, notice that the web site mentions this:
"Will I receive anything in the mail about Recruitment at LSU? The Greek Tiger,
LSU’s Recruitment Book, will be sent to all incoming freshman on May 1st. It includes pictures of what to wear, how the structure of the week will go, chapter information, and advice on how to best prepare for recruitment. If you haven’t received it by June 15th, email your name and address to us at . . . and we will send you one.
Once you have registered, you’ll receive Girl Talk, a more in depth guide to sorority recruitment.
I’m a sophomore going through Recruitment. Will I receive a Greek Tiger? No, but if you email us your name and address at . . . we will be more than happy to send you one. " (e-mail addresses edited out -- they're on the actual web site, though)
So, lsucajun8, you should be getting considerably more official information covering the topics you mentioned in your original post.
