I'm sorry if you felt attacked, Cloud9, but I doubt that was anyone's intent. For myself personally, I read your initial post and felt that it was making some hasty generalizations in a hostile manner, but maybe you really are genuinely concerned. Furthermore, it is unfortunate, but there have been quite a few instances recently where people with 2 -3 posts have come on, (usually it's the same few people) and post their trash and then leave, create a new username, come back, post trash again, etc. Some of these *individuals* basically talk trash and pull things out of their ass, so it's hard not to be skeptical. If you stick around, trust me....you'll know what I mean.

I'm definitely not out to trash the Greek system....if that were true I woudln't be a part of it now! Let me be clear that I am talking about individual groups---the one that I joined did not haze AT ALL and although Ican't know every organization's procedures I am sure that there are other groups here that don't haze as well. The problem is that as you all must know, all you need is one bad group to make everyone else look bad. I think that maybe the fact that we're mostly local may contribute to making hazing easier...also because we are not a very unified student body there are higher numbers of students who have difficulty making close friends, thereby becoming socially insecure on campus and targets that would be more likely ot put up with hazing. I have thought about reporting this particular group, but the problem is that I'm not really sure who I would go to. In addition, because there are other groups that support hazing(underground of course), AND because I was a freshman when I witnessed everything it might be difficult at this point to prove anything, and afterwards could create animosity between groups if they found out about it. I dunno, it's a mess! I'm really starting to think that the whole national thing looks like the best solution. But can they really tell if that sort of activity is going on, or is it easy for sororities or fraternities to just sweep things under the rug? BTW, i'm glad that I finally got some positive responses because it actually was making ME more suspicious that maybe it was a more prevalent issue than I thought when I recieved all those vehement denials. Trust me, I love greek life!!! I just want to make sure that it isn't ruined at my school by those who abuse its ideals.
