Do you mean laid off or truly terminated involuntarily? They are two different things. It is not a person's fault that he or she is made redundant. And even if you are terminated without your position being eliminated, it does not always mean that you did something unethical, performed poorly, or were not punctual. It could be the result of a personality conflict. And people sometimes are terminated with or without reason and for any reason under those "at will" or "90 day rule" clauses.
Sadly, other people still judge you even if it were not your fault at all.
