That's very interesting!
Though I have to say, I can't imagine us having a ladybug as a mascot... I think the lion fits, but that's probably because I'm new-school and it's all I know. I knew that one of my professors who is an alum of the Alpha Upsilon (McNeese) chapter told me that they used the ladybug as an unofficial chapter mascot, but I always thought it was just a fun thing their chapter did.
