Looking to see if your campus has an environmental group is a great first step. Many campuses have environmental clubs, but these clubs get little to no publicity. One thing you might want to try is a competition called RecycleMania. I don't have the link to it on this computer, but if you pm me, i'm sure i can find it for you. It may be too late to join the actual competition nationally, but you can always have a small week long competition on your campus. Pretty much you just decide what you want to recycle. It can be just paper, or plastic or glass, or any combination of recyclable materials. Then you set up recycle centers around the campus, collect the recyclables at the end of every day, and measure how much you've collected. You can have a goal in mind, or just do it to see how much you can do. You can even make it a competition between different groups, years, majors, buildings, etc. on the campus to make it more interesting.
