I've told this elsewhere, but it's still a great story.
After my grandfather died, my grandmother (who was in poor health) struggled to keep up the beautiful yard and garden the two of them had made. I felt so bad because I was in Tennessee, and unable to help her in Tyler, Texas. Then I remembered we had a colony at UT-Tyler. I called up the cc, and told her my dilemma. Within days, 20+ Gamma Phis came to my grandmother's home, helped her clean out the koi pond, put down mulch, weed, etc. Mind you, they had never me - all they knew was that a sister was worried about her grandmother, and they didn't hesitate to help. Love my Gamma Phi sisters!
