It's been a long time, but here's what I can remember:

We had an Apple Polishing dinner. Member could invite a professor to the house for a formal dinner. Any member who had not made grades the previous semester was required to attend and invite a professor. It was a great way to get to know a professor outside of class. Sounds similar to the "Apple Pie with Alpha Chi."

We had a "scheduling dinner." Once the next semester schedule had been released, the VP Intellectual Development would get enough copies for the chapter and bring them to dinner. Then, girls would make suggestions concerning classes within their major. (Example: I was a political science major, but everyone had to take at least basic American government to get a degree. I could help with professor selection based on different teaching styles.) This was especially helpful to the younger members.

During finals, alumnae and our house mom would have snacktime at midnight every night.

I think the book club is a great idea.
