Sorry this is kinda long. We don’t really do pranks or stealing of other GLO’s stuff. But we have had some crazy adventures, especially if it’s any trip with me in charge (like the time one of my sisters asked me to pick her up from the airport and we ended up getting a flat tire). The craziest one was when three of my sisters (P, B, and Y) and I were going to San Francisco. The cheapest flight we could find was flying out of Dulles airport. So I had to rent a car to drive us from State College to Dulles. Everything just kept going wrong.
First, I didn't check my credit card balance until mere hours before I have to pick up the rental car. I’m almost at my credit limit, so I quickly submit an online payment and then call American Express to find out how long it's going to take to process the payment. They tell me it's going to be 24-48 hours. I then call up Enterprise to see if this is going to be a problem when they do authorization and paperwork. They said it would be a problem, so I make P go with me to Enterprise so we can use P's card for authorization. However, P has a debit card and they won't take that. So P and I begin calling up all the 21+ sisters with cars to see if any of them can drive to Enterprise and use their card for authorization. After half an hour of freaking out and acting like a total spaz because we're getting nowhere, I ask the guy to just try my card....and of course, lo and behold, it goes through.
So we get the car and we get everyone and we're ready to go, but we're running late. We start out jokingly yelling at each other, but then it kinda escalates. Finally, I get everyone to settle down. Then the next drama unfolds...the MapQuest directions were horrible. They had me going on all these small local roads, and I'm stuck behind all these cars and I can't pass them because it's only one lane. Finally, we get on a larger road and we're on our way...though VERY, VERY much behind schedule...so I was driving fast the whole way. However, the directions were confusing as hell. We had no idea where we were supposed to go...missed a few exits that we were supposed to take...narrowly missed a car or two...accidentally got into the EZPass lane and ended up just driving through it, with the light flashing "TOLL NOT PAID" in red letters...didn't realize I needed gas until the needle was at "E".
Finally, we get to DC and we're driving along and we see planes...good sign, right? NOOOOOO, we ended up going to Ronald Reagan Airport instead of Dulles Airport. So we ask for directions to Dulles...it's 40 minutes away!!! We're cutting it REALLY close now. We get there and we have to cross the long-ass walkway to get from the parking lot to the airport entrance. The whole time, we're all hoping and praying that the flight is delayed. Of course, it isn't. We get to the check-in counter 20 minutes before take-off time. One of the ladies then escorts us through security, but then B is stopped and pulled aside and patted down. When they're done, we're like throwing her flip-flops and her bags at her and we take off running. I'm running way ahead of everyone else so that I might be able to tell them to hold the plane. We have to run down a long-ass flight of stairs, then across the long-ass hallway with moving sidewalks, and then up a long-ass flight of stairs. I was so out of breath. Halfway up the stairs, I hear the call for our flight. I get to the top of the stairs and am booking it down the hall to our gate, which of course is at the very end, when they announce final boarding call for our flight. I get to the gate and tell them I have three sisters coming too. I try to wait at the gate for them, but the flight attendant was like "Excuse me, miss, you need to board the plane and take your seat immediately!" I get on the plane and sit down. I’m panicked that the flight attendants won’t wait for my sisters. I’m ready to stand up and make a ruckus if they try to pull away without my sisters. In hindsight, this would have been a very stupid move…especially in our post-911 world. Luckily, they wait for my sisters. B, P, and Y board and take their seats. Thankfully, the rest of the trip goes smoothly.
On the return trip, we made sure to arrive at the San Francisco airport with plenty of time. Well since we were early, of course, our flight was an hour delayed.
