I've never heard of sweetheart being decided that way. It's quite interesting and sounds like a great way to raise money. Our chapter usually just votes on it, often it is a boyfrind that has helped us out, but it's been a sister's mothers and other friends or relatives too. Congrats on your first Sapphire ball.
