I missed it last night, but when AI was starting this season one local radio station was saying there were a few "planted" contestants who actually already had recording deals, but never made it. Apparently the Irish girl had even released a couple songs in the US, but to no avail of furthering her career.
One was an Irish girl with a guitar and the other was a hispanic musician too. If I remember correctly.
I'd hate for this to be true, but after the last couple seasons and what's happened, they may be trying to swing things.
