In her written statement asking for the restraining order, she mentioned that she and two others witnessed firsthand Lutfi's treatment of her daughter.
Earlier I posted the link to the official court documents but it appears that the link no longer works.
This article gives a good summary of it. In the article, Lynne Spears wrote that Sam Lutfi himself said "his plan was to get Britney into a sleep-induced coma so that her doctor could give her drugs 'to heal her brain'."
I'm not a mother, and while I don't think Lynne lied when making her statement, I do see the importance of doing what it takes to make sure her child's life isn't compromised by people who obviously don't care about her.
