I remember I didn't want to come home after that!
We don't have King Cake here, but we do have malassadas (eaten year round, but even moreso on Fat Tuesday):
Malassadas are essentially a doughnut shaped as shown (no hole in it), about the size of a racket ball, deep fried until golden brown and dusted with a light coat of granulated sugar. It's best when served hot! Malassadas originally came to Hawaii in the late 1800s when Portuguese immigrants came here to work on the plantations.
