Skit night
So after waiting for too long, we finally found out where we would be going back to for skit night, which we could attend up to 4 parties. I got cut from one of the houses I originally thought I really wanted, but throughout the few days that we didn't have recruitment activities I saw girls around campus from this sorority and realized that maybe outside of their house, I didn't fit in with them. They were a lot different than I thought they were, and in the end, it worked out and didn't bother me much that they dropped me.
I got asked back to and went back to:
Banana- This house had a great skit. It was really cute and all the girls had so much fun while they were performing it. All the girls I talked to were really sweet and easy to talk to, but I knew I had to really decide which house I could see myself in, and I saw a girl that I had talked to before and I waved, but she didn't seem to recognize me, which really hurt the sorority for me. (On her defense, I know you meet a lot of people, but she and I were from the same hometown, which was rare, so I thought I would stand out.)
Strawberry- This house was the last one I went to that night. To be honest, it intimidated me but also made me really want to be a part of their sorority. It was the 4th round of the night and the girls sang really enthusiastically, even the girls who weren't in the skits were really involved and not to mention the skit was amazing. Then as I was talking to girls that evening, conversation still flowed well and all of the girls I talked to were really nice and for the most part we had something in common. I liked this house a lot, but I wasn't getting emotionally attached to any of them yet.
Peach- This house also had amazing skits, and all of the songs were really cute and I got really into the skit at one point. One girl I talked to didn't really click with me, but I guess that's to be expected, you can't click with everyone. I clicked well with the other girls which made up for it. I still really enjoyed this house, and I also knew one of the girls from my first week at the school, and she saw me and waved. That night I guess it's safe to say that I based some of my opinions of the sororities on the personal relationships that I had begun to make through the process. This house was definitely one I wanted to keep on my list.
Lemon- This house was the first I went to of the night. I honestly got goosebumps at the skits, but I couldn't decide if it was because it was cold outside, or because I was really let down by the house the night before and now they had come back and really impressed me with the skit. However, the girls I talked to, again, were a little awkward and didn't seem as interested in me. But I saw a few girls I had talked to before and they all smiled and me and waved, and I really appreciated that. Overall I enjoyed this house a lot.
However, that night, we could only keep 2. It was a hard decision, but I honestly thought that night that I'd be happy at any of the 4 I got asked back to. So, trying to be slick, I cut the two that weren't as selective and kept the other 2 because I knew basically that if I got cut from the more selective ones, I would at worst have to go back to the less selective, and in my case, I would be ok with that because I honestly liked them all and I knew my chances as an upperclassmen weren't great for staying at both of the more selective houses. I'm basically trying not to sound like a jerk, but my strategy was fairly effective. That night I dropped Lemon and Banana.
What do you think will happen next?!?!
