I was stuck in traffic for 2 1/2 hours shortly after Baby Cyrus died. They closed off about 3 miles of the H-1 so traffic on the surface streets were a nightmare.
I remember being so pissed off that I was late for an appointment. A lot of drivers were pissed off. And then the radio announcer broke the news, barely completing his sentences because even he was choked up. And then all of a sudden anger turned into sadness.
All of a sudden we had no right to be angry because a 2 1/2 year old was dead. And no one knew who he was. I frantically called the BF because his son's 2 1/2 years old and lives near the victim and suspect. I thanked God that it wasn't Max.
Most of us didn't even know Baby Cyrus or his family, but it doesn't matter. Words can't express what I feel each time I pass under the Miller Street Overpass every day since then. I cried on my way home Thursday evening.
Moms and dads, please hug your children a little tighter tonight.
