heehee i get to tell my stories...
Ok, so if you don't believe in this, you'll think I have totally lost my mind. I didn't want to believe in it for the longest time, but too much has happened...
So....
The house I grew up in was built in 1925, and there's a small room in the basement that looks like it had a false wall at some point. I have no idea what the history of the house is, but that alone makes me curious.
My bedroom was on the second floor, and there's a hall closet just before you get to my bedroom (down a hall) to the right. When I was young, I was terrified to go upstairs unless someone was with me. I heard voices coming from the closet. Not just inaudible noises, but what sounded like a little girl -- around my age at the time -- calling my name and asking me to play. The door would open slightly. I hated that closet. If I had to get something out of it, the door closed on me. That never happened to anyone else, but every time I opened the door...
People used to tell me it was just the house settling, but I honestly don't think so.
I had a friend that I had known pretty much all of my life. When we were in high school, she stayed at my house one night, and something freaked her out. She went to turn the light in one of the rooms off, and stopped just before she got to the switch. "Did you feel that?"
Turns out, she felt the temp. drop around her, and the hairs on the back of her neck stood up.
When I was 16, a guy I had dated briefly was shot and killed. He used to sneak up behind me and grab my sides to see if I would flinch. (I'm extremely ticklish, so it always worked.) Anyway, I was in my room in the middle of the night 2 months to the day after he died. I was sitting up against a wall, and I felt something grab me from behind.
Related story... I started at a community college that Sept. My second day on campus, I was crossing the quad, and this guy walked up to me. I stopped in my tracks because he could have been the twin to my friend who had died. He walked over to me and asked if I was ok because all color had drained from my face. I spoke to him and sat down. When he knew I was ok, he turned to walk away. I looked up, and he was gone. The quad isn't all that small, and there weren't many people out. Very strange.
I have a ton of these stories, but I won't tell all. There is one more I'd like to leave you with, and this happened this month.
Background...
My husband's mother passed away shortly before we met, but he has told me a little about her. She's the type of person who ironed everything. She, from what I gather, also thought it
necessary to button all buttons.
So, here's the story. Hubby went to get ready for work, and asked me if I was trying to remind him of his mom. It seems that when he took his pants out of the closet, they were buttoned and zipped. This is something his mother always did.
On top of that, he always empties his pockets completely. He works in a factory, so it's his norm to wear the same pants at least twice before they hit the laundry. He found things in his pockets for days after that. Nothing that can't really be explained, but it's a strange coincidence.
