Can we put this "the SEC is too fast for the Big 10" shit to bed already? Florida, which has had as much talent as anyone recently (and runs a spread), is now 2-4 against the Big 10 in bowl games since 2000, including a down-year Michigan team hanging 525 yards while giving up 4 TOs and winning.

The SEC is the best conference in the nation, no one on Earth can argue that (I don't really think it's particularly close) - and LSU is probably the best team in the country in terms of raw talent.

But in the age of the 80-scholarship limit, it's pretty inane to argue that speed is the difference between two traditional powers - now, you can probably argue that the SEC plays at a faster pace. That's 100% true, in my mind - and I'm pretty sure possession-by-possession data bears that out. That's not the same thing as speed, though.
