UK alum initiate

Hi kittyuk!!

I think it's awesome that you want to puruse alumnae initiation!

I guess the big concern here is how you would be able to do so from England. As a couple people pointed out, there *are* alumnae associations in the UK. I would suggest you contact the individual sororities you are interested and asking directly. I do know that a couple sororities have London-based alumae associations (and not just a general Panhellenic group).

I'm in a somewhat similar situation. I am about to apply to attend grad school in the UK (Univ. of Bristol, Univ. of Edinburgh and Univ. of York). I'm wondering what kind of opportunities there might be for me. It seems kinda dumb 'cause I have been trying to affiliate for the longest time now...and if I actually do so this spring, I might just have to leave the country right after! :P (and *that's* why these people shouldn't have taken so long!! )

And what do you know....the love of my life is also an Englishman! (Sorry Tom!)

At any rate, do what Valkyrie suggests and cruise the websites. If you do a search on this [greekchat] website, there's a thread regarding which of the sororities do alumnae initiation and which don't. That'll help you know where to start. I'd go look, but my computer doesn't like it when I try and flip screens.

Good luck to you! If worse comes to worse, you and I can start our own sorority in England.

Ta!

......Kelly
