Yeah, we've talked about it and I straight up told him that I would feel better about us if we were engaged before he deployed. We've talked marriage before and I said (to ease his mind) that engagements aren't legally binding and we know we're eventually getting married anyway, so why not at least get engaged. We just bought a house, people assume it already anyway! When we were clearing out of the apt this weekend and the apt complex lady was walking us out, she asked if there was a wedding anytime soon (in front of his parents!) and he was like, I dunno maybe (in that happy tone, not the shut up you're freaking me out tone). I think it's entirely possible New Years (we've already got reservations at the Palms restaurant in Nashville and a pretty nice hotel) but it's entirely possible he won't at the same time. My mom seems pretty optimistic though which makes me wonder if she knows something... and the parents met over the weekend...
