That's ridiculous! I know many people who graduated from the US Naval Academy (including my husband) and the hazing they endured during their plebe year makes most fraternity-related incidents pale in comparison 
If anything, fraternal organizations seem to have GOTTEN their hazing ideas (i.e. performing tasks to prove that you can "fit in") from the military.
