This may be more fun than some of the others here.
From AutoWeeks' "But wait, there's more" section:
"On Nov 30, I waited more than an hour to register my new trailer at the Massachusetts Motor Vehicle Registry. After I write my check and receive my plates and my new registration, the clerk looks at me with a straight face and says, "Your registration is about to expire. Would you like to renew it now for @29.00?
I laughed until she explained that all Massachusetts trailer registrations expire on the same date: Nov. 30th.
