Perhaps a better numbers game (subjective as hell) would be to ask all the coaches which conference they feel is the overall strongest conference. However, they could not rank/list their own conference. Then compare it with sports writers. I would venture to guess that the SEC would be ranked at or near the top most years. And if one was to compile the numbers over say ten or more years, I would guess there would be a perception - justified or not - that the SEC is strongest conference year in and year out.
