those questions annoy me when I get asked that all the time.
sometimes, i jokingly reply "Token asian" or "so you can ask me this question"
seriously though, I would just rather you ask me why "XYZ" than "why XYZ when you are asian". These days, most orgs push for diversity/multiculturalism that it shouldn't be much of a surprise.
