And that's it in a nutshell.
Hooking up is different from dating and making someone your girlfriend. In fact, most girls eventually learn that the surest way to NOT make a guy your boyfriend is to hook up with him. And sororities don't like to be known as the "slut" house; my friend's alma mater has a saying about the sororities on campus: (GLOs remain anonymous) "F*#$ a ABC, date a DEF, marry a XYZ." No one wants to be that used, or to be labeled as a "slut" through association.
