At the risk of redundancy, I will tell her story until I die, if only to save one person from going into a relationship without knowing the details of another's culture.
It's especially ironic right now, as this time of year is when I heard she had been executed. I had tried to picture her (with her blonde hair & blue eyes!) in an abaya & veil while she was alive, and never could, and at first, she laughed at me struggling to picture her like that (in her letters & phone calls). But when she started with the warnings, it wasn't so funny. She was beautiful, vivacious, funny, and yet so caring about everyone & everything. So sad.
