My personal opinion....
If I ever found out that one of my parents dated one of my friends, I wouldn't speak to either of them for the rest of my life. That's nasty and downright trifling!!!  I know for a fact that my mother wouldn't do something like that, but my father's another story and I'd never put it past him.
