What gets me is the waiting for possible aftershocks. Every time I hear something that I can't right away recognize, say a large truck going by outside, my adrenalin started pumping thinking it might be an aftershock. It usually takes a while before I stop reacting to normal sounds thinking it's another quake.
I heard it a second before also. It really freaked me out because my office is on the 19th floor. My mom didnt feel it @ home because our house is on solid granite (if you know it San Bruno Mt.) I just wanted to get out of the downtown area ASAP. BART had to stop to check the tracks which is standard so I caught a cab home. Ugh...

Did anything fall in your home?
