I know a sisterfriend who is a student there now. She is studying business/finance, and she loves it. She has been assigned a mentor in her field and she really likes the program. She has mixed feelings about DC, but who doesn't? I will let you know more via PM the next time I talk to her.

Thanks

. I'm a photography sudent and I really want to go back to an HBCU. Howard is the only one that has a photo program at the grad level and one of the few that offer it in the undergrad program.
One of the few things I miss about attending an HBCU is, I was never only black person in the class. This semester, I have 3 classes and again, I am the only Af-Am in all of them. sigh....
Thanks for any info, SoRHOr. I really appreciate it.

I am not a student at Howard University, however a good friend of mine from HS is a student there. Their programs are strong in only certain areas : Engineering (electrical specifically), Pharmacy, Dentistry, and Medicine. Their other academics are decent, however their academics were better back in the day (like the 60s and 70s). From my personal experience, people in the admissions office can be rude and unprofessional. The financial aid thing is one big mess... they lose your information so it may have to be send in again for example. On the other hand, HU homecoming is bomb!! I went in 99 and 2000 (was sick last year). From the football game to the after parties, it's just a fun time with your girls (I went both years with my friends from school and loved it).
Lauren80,
I have heard through the grapevine that the admin office is quite slow with paperwork so I'm putting my plan together now. I've going to get my BFA in 2 1/2 years. Just want to be prepared. By the way, what is your major?
