Really? Ween's fanbase isn't nerd-friendly? Not that they're as dorky as TMBG, but I feel like their fanbases overlap, at least in my experience . . .
Re: Zappa - I meant more "hippy" than actual drug user, but that might be more the people I know who like Zappa than his fans overall, no doubt.
