Just so we’re all on the same page, my comments are based back on the day… like in the mid-late 80’s. In my experiences in high school almost 15 years ago when being dark skinned wasn’t popular. Most of the lighter men (and women) that I knew were stuck on themselves. And some of the ones that weren’t initially… started to act that way eventually. And that was very unattractive to me.

It wasn't like I saw Tyson or Wesley on TV and flocked to dark men. It was the fact that lighter men weren’t interested in me but I got love from darker men. So in turn I’ve always been interested in them. In fact, my husband is the lightest man I think I’ve ever dealt with… he’s the toffee (and hates when I say that… LOL)

So... IMO, before there was a Blair, Wesley, Morris... dark men already had a fan club. I guess I may have been the only one in it! LOL

Not that this needs to be said but I have light skinned friends. LOL I'm sorry that I'm cracking up... but it reminds me of white folks saying.. "i have black friends". And this may be just my thang, but I still don't get down with conceited folks (whatever the shade!)
