I don't think this would fly at my school, even though they go silent after h.s. graduation, I think they would still consider it dirty rushing at my school. It seemed like panhel wanted everyone on a level playing ground for formal recruitment, even if they knew everyone wasn't. I know in my chapter we were asked to talk to girls coming in as freshman - but only if we knew them (So and so's cousin is going to go to our school next year, go ahead and see if she'll be going through recruitment in the fall, etc.)

Although, I have to say, it is pretty smart to go ahead and take the time to recruit the women your chapter really wants and would be a good fit - but still seems a little sneaky to me... although, large companies do it to college juniors and seniors all the time (Club Car recruiting at VA Tech for example) so I guess it makes a lot of sense in the long run!
