Actually, the tenor of posts here can be more significant for Greeks and your organiations than you may realize.

I am my chapters founder in a way that most people are not, meaning I conceived an idea to start a Fraternity without a group of people to back me. I came up with the idea, recruited a team, and saw through the execution. It took me two seperate attempts with two different organizations to do it because of the way our campus administrators viewed Greeks.

As a result when people on campus have wanted to start a Fraternity/Sorority I have often been a resource for them.

2 years ago one or two girls came up to me because they wanted to start a Sorority on Campus.

So I shared my experience and knowledge with them and helped them pick out which group to affiliate with.

But what did I know about sororities (except that I would like to be in one)? At that time none of my friends were in one on different campuses.

However, I spent time on the old GreekSource way back when and was very impressed with the posts of our very own, Barbara, AKA PnguinTrax, and so I recomended ZTA to them, it wasn't on their list, but they put it there.

And I kept hinting what a great group it was, leadership orientated, fun, would give them resources, and had a dedicated group of alumnae. With a little persuasion from me, their good taste, and a little help I gave with greasing the administration, as well as luck of the draw, they chose ZTA and ZTA chose them.

And that same year received their charter into ZTA.

Why? Well beyond all their hard work it was because Barbara's love for the Greek system, and her Fraternity, showed so strongly through her website, and frequent intellegent posts on Greek source and Duncan's old site, that I was impressed enough with her and by extension ZTA to make that recomendation.

Such a seemingly small thing has led to a new ZTA chapter that is now the biggest on our campus, the only one at Total.

And if Barbara hadn't impressed me so much at that time and place, there is an extremely high probability that there would be a different Sorority here.

Take this as a lesson and do with it what you will.

Sorry Barbara, I meant to write to you before about it but the draft got filed. I did meet Deb Ensor the Executive Director and told her an abreviated version of the story. She knew precisely who you were. Here's a hi from her 1.5 years late
