I apologize for not mentioning the year but this was back in 1998. I remember when I started college in Fall 97, it was pretty much the expectation to finish college in 4 years not 5. Things have definately changed in 9.5 years, so who's not to say that the rules are different.

Remember though with the whole "4 year" thing, the expectation is that you take 15 hours a semester. That way you get your 120 hours in 4 years. Alot more people are only taking 12 hours a semester, especially the harder the major is for them (or the harder the classes). If you only do 12 hours a semester, it will take you 5 years.

Booted sounds really harsh. They just aren't active, obviously they are still members, just alums. Plus, the seniors when I was a freshman, hardly did anything in the first place and they were all on the 4 year plan (minus my big). My big was one of the few who was petitioning for a 5th year, but she was an active senior.
