Been there. Done that. It sucked being a stupid 18 year old with a job that paid about $200 a week and living off of credit cards with huge interest rates. I was stupid as hell and paid the price. My mom took one look at the hole I was in and the pitiful amount of money I had and laughed at me. She told me that I dug myself into that financial pit so I'd have to dig myself out. She believed that it was the only way to teach me financial responsibility. She was right.
Now I'm 28, out of debt, have really good credit, and only have 1 credit card that I rarely use as it is for emergencies only.
