lol, i was doing research for a master's project, and decided to look up Beta in the chronicles of higher education, and I found this very hilarious and creative philanthropy... univ of Cincinnati, and they raised 3000 dollars:
"People pay $20 to have a brightly colored toilet placed in a friend's yard. On the designated Saturday members of the Beta Theta Pi fraternity plant the toilet accordingly, ring the friend's doorbell, and announce that he or she has been "dumped on." Then the dumpers offer to remove the toilet from the dumpee's yard, for $10. For an additional $15, the dumpee can send the toilet on to someone else's yard and acquire "toilet insurance," which prevents the fixture from returning."
