I remember when I went through rush in 1987, AOII and KAO were the "new" chapters and had been there for 20 years (came on campus in 1967). It was mentioned a lot during rush that they were the newest sororities, even though both had very strong reputations and houses. I matched for bid day, but not with my 1st or 2nd choice, so I dropped out. I was glad as my Sophomore year, GPhiB came to 'Bama, and my mom was a GPhiB!

Now 20 years later, GPhiB seems to be finally making great strides and establishing themselves as a solid house. It seems the 20year mark is a bit of a "milestone" at Bama.
