Even today a good number of brothers are in the Air/Army National Guard, or the Air/Army Rotc. I'm in the rotc myself.

you know, I've heard that it was quite common for fraternity men, and some sorority women to be in the national guard or army rotc kind of programs in the 70's and 80's. BUT, when I think about it, a lot of my brothers are in the national guard, army reserves and/or some ROTC program now. So are a lot of other fraternity men in other orgs on my campus. Is this common on a lot of college campuses?
