Close, but not quite. Regional Reps was the old title for Regional Directors, who were always elected.
The position was called Field Representative, later National Service Representatives. It started back at the 1958 National Convention (long before the current Regions).
Over the years, I am aware of the following people who did this:
Harry C Barnett, C.J. Carlson in 1959 (not sure for how long)
Roger Sherwood in 1964, left in 1966.
Ronald Radkle in 1965.
David Patterson & David Harris, 1966-67
Gene Lake & Thomas Barnawell, 1967-68
Gene Lake, Robert Hartsuyker, Jim Tillinghast, 1968-69
C.R. Wainwright & Gene Lake, 1969-70
Jim Donnally & Jim William, 1971-72.
We stopped having them because we couldn't afford it. These young men (usually fresh out of college) would travel around and help set up chapters. After this, the things they did pretty much moved to regional/sectional staff.
From what I understand, there will only be one NFR at this point. We'll see how it goes.
