I'm not sure how the IFC runs recruitment, but with Panhellenic at my school all the sororities are given a quota of 25, depending on the amount of girls recruiting. Generally two of the four sororities make quota and the other two fall short, like around 12 and 15. So that leaves approximately 75 girls that end up in a house. But I know with the four fraternities on campus, their numbers range daily. I had heard that Sig Ep on our campus recruited 100 men, but I sure haven't seen 100 new members. I think overall there are more Fraternity men on our campus than women. HOWEVER, us women are more prominant in getting involved and such.
Hope that makes sense.
I should also add that even though the fraternities have more numbers, it is prodominately in two houses. Likewise with the sororities.
