There was a DPhiE who walked for leukemia and lymphoma that I supported in part because she was going to wear a t-shirt with the names of people we wanted to honor. There was a student at the school I worked at who had just passed with leukemia so I made a gift in his memory and she put his name on her shirt. I didn't even know the sister personally, and I still chose to support her. You might take that angle...

If you have a personal connection--share that on your fundraising page or with the people you ask to support you.

You probably know that you need to talk to anyone that will listen about what you're doing. Don't be afraid to pick up the phone or ask people directly in person--its the personal ask that people respond to best.

Good luck with your walk!
