Sigma Gamma Rho did not receive its charter for the Alpha chapter at Butler U. until 1929, but we were founded by collegiate women. All of the founders were undergrads at Butler U., were graduates of Normal schools (2 yr. teachers' schools) in Indiana, and were teaching in Indiana at the time that Sigma Gamma Rho was founded.
