Beta Bowling - Strikes for Tikes
Our chapter started a philanthropy event this past February that we called "Beta Bowling - Strikes for Tikes". It benefits our local Children's Miracle Network, which directly finances our local children's hospital.
We solicited donors to pledge a certain amount of money ($.01, $.05, $.10, etc.) for each pin that was knocked down in a three-game event. The math is easy: If someone bowled three perfect games by knocking down 120 pins, and the donor chose to give $.01 for every pin, then they would donate $3.60. Some people chose that route, while others just made a flat donation of $5 to $100. We raised $1,500 very easily just by hitting up our families.
I'm hoping that we can double or triple that amount this year. All of the staff members at our CMN thought it was a great idea and we were highlighted on their local annual telethon.
