True, there certainly
can be, but there doesn't mean that there have to be. In my experience (my brother is a "IV"), that kind of imposition of expectations is the exception, not the rule -- and if those expectations are in fact there, they are likely to be there regardless of what the kid gets named.

I see your point, but like I said, it seems very normal to me. I would expect other family members to refrain from naming a kid Fred because they would think it's George's prerogative to use that name. And I would expect George to name his son Fred -- and I trust George not to expect little Fred to be brother Fred reincarnated.
The real question is -- who did George marry?
