I'm sorry, but I don't think "Ether" is worthy at all. It's really not hot. He isn't saying anything and it's nothing that really blows me away. When I first heard "The Takover", I wanted to hear it again. When I first heard "Ether", I wanted that long, boring song to hurry up and go off of the radio.

Let's be real. Before this whole beef and battle, who was paying any attention to Nas. None of his albums were up the standard he set with Illmatic and fans took notice. Lots of people lost respect for him and his record sales were showing it. So, he probably thought to himself "what's a quick way to boost my sales?" He could release a hot album, but since lots of people had already lost interest, its sales probably wouldn't have been any better. The quickest way to boost those sale is to start a battle. And, since Jay-Z is the most popular and best selling rapper, he is the prime candidate.
