Stepping is an art form that became popular among us in the 70's and 80's but it is not our foundation. We like to chant, sing, and step because it encourages unity among our sisters and brothers but it is not our purpose. The main tenets of the NPHC orgs are Sisterhood/Brotherhood, Scholarship, and Service. There are many members of our organizations that do not step at all and chapters that do not step at all.
